Some Recent Prep Basketball
High school winter sports finals have been keeping me pretty busy lately, so I wanted to share a little of what I've been shooting. Here's some high school basketball coverage from the past few weeks.
Oklahoma Highschool State Swimming Finals
I was hired to cover the Oklahoma Highschool State Swimming Finals. I cover a lot of sporting events, but swimming was a new one for me, so I thought I'd share a few of my favorites from the event.
Some Recent Photojournalism Work
I've been spending a lot of time lately doing freelance work for a few local publications. Since I haven't updated in a little while, I figured I'd share a little of what I've been shooting.
Ryan and Cheridan's Wedding
Ryan and Cheridan originally asked me to cover their wedding back in May in Oklahoma City, but unfortunately had to postpone at the last minute. Luckily, once things were rescheduled, I was able to get down to Cheridan's mother's house in Dallas to photograph this beautiful intimate ceremony last weekend.
It turned out to be a perfect day for an outdoor wedding, with just the right amount of clouds in the sky and a slight breeze to keep everyone comfortable.
The couple had just their closest friends and family with them to celebrate the occasion with a catered brunch, followed by dancing, before sending the couple on their way.
The newlyweds left straight from the reception for the airport to catch a flight for their tropical honeymoon.
Thanks to Cheridan and Ryan, and their families, for allowing me to be a part of their wedding day. It was an honor. I'd also like to thank Jesse Love of J & E Artistry for helping me out as a second shooter.
Yaniv and Jeanette's "not maternity pictures" portrait preview.
My good friends Yaniv and Jeanette are about to have their first child. They asked me to take a few photos while Jeanette is sporting the baby bump, but she asked that the focus be on portraits of the two of them where she just happened to be pregnant, and not the standard "Here's my belly with some cute baby things" maternity shoot.
We started the shoot outside the iconic Gold Dome building in Oklahoma City. Yaniv and Jeanette first met in a bar that used to be inside. The building is currently being renovated so I had to be creative with my angles to avoid the construction mess in the shots, but we were able to find several spots that worked well.
After a quick wardrobe change, we moved to a small park near the couples house. The weather was perfect with just the right amount of cloud cover and a little bit of a breeze.
I still have plenty of photos left to process from this shoot, but I wanted to share just a few in the meantime and say congratulations to Yaniv and Jeanette on their oncoming new family member!
Lily and Goldie
I have quite a few more photos to go through, but I had to share a quick preview of the portraits I shot this evening of these two beautiful, and very expressive, aspiring actresses. Lily and Goldie are both completely comfortable in front of the camera, and their ability to take direction so well made my job easy.
Janie's Bat Mitzvah Preview
Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the Bat Mitvah of a very charming young girl named Janie. The service Saturday morning, much like Janie herself, was relaxed and fun. The after party that evening took place at a glass blowing studio, with all the guests receiving hand blown glass flowers in the colors of their choosing. The rest of the photos will be up on the proofing page within a day or two, but here's a quick preview just to show what a fun day this was.
Spring Soccer Kickoff
I recently covered a pre-season high school soccer tournament for Vype Magazine. It was a warm and sunny day amidst a string of cold and grey ones, so the athletes were eager to be on the field and the conditions were perfect for capturing some good action.
